Burna Boy’s song, Destiny has been included in the 46 track playlist for the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
The artist Mark’s the only African to have his song on the list for the inauguration set to hole on Wednesday 20th of January 2021.
Destiny is one of the tracks on Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated ‘African Giant’ album and has been picked by the presidential inauguration team led by Tony Allen.
The 46-track playlist was put together for the sole reason that during this pandemic, music has been a source of hope for people who had to stay away from family and friends.
American music mogul and rapper DJ D-Nice and actress Issa Rae’s Raedio alongside the inauguration committee came up with the list which included other international musicians such as Marvin Gaye, Kendrick Lamar, Dua Lipa, Bob Marley and the host of others.
“These songs and artists reflect the relentless spirit and rich diversity of America. They are the score to a new chapter and will help bring people together as the Biden-Harris administration begins its important work to unite our country”, the Chief Executive of the presidential inauguration committee said.
The African Giant has become a hit on the playlist of notable American politicians have appeared in the list of former president Barrack Obama’s summer playlist alongside his colleagues, Davido and Wizkid.
